excellent stay near the hydro
spacious roomseparate areaeffective soundproofing
the hotel has a modern feel. i received a room upgrade upon check-in, a pleasant surprise. the room was spacious and included a separate seating area with a tv, two wardrobes, storage shelving, and a huge accessible shower room. the bed was large and comfortable, with an additional tv. the location is ideal for attending events at the ovo hydro as it is only a five minute walk. the soundproofing in the room was effective.

impractical room designrecurring fire alarm
i found the room design quite impractical it lacked essential amenities such as a luggage rack and a proper table. this made it difficult to manage my belongings i had to bend down to pick things up from my bag. also the fire alarm went off at an unreasonable hour due to a sensor problem this seems to be a recurring issue the hotel has not addressed.

the location proved perfect.. it was a short walk to the event i attended. the staff was friendly and helpful. i also liked the dog treat stall in reception, complete with toys for playful pups.
i found the ongoing building work slightly disruptive, as carpet was missing in the hallway outside my room. the scaffolding right outside my window meant anyone could see directly into my bed if the curtains were open.

the staff was nice and helpful, so that was acceptable.
the mattress was really uncomfortable and i did not get a good nights sleep. the light kept turning on whenever i moved, it woke me up several times during the night. because of this, i would not consider staying again.
